With Thanksgiving approaching, followed by Advent, this sermon series is really a series of thanksgivings, for the way God rescues us. Using four key psalms, the series will explore different ways in which God is there for us.

Although God raised him up to deliver Israel during the time of the Judges, Samson was the most corrupt of all the Judges, yet is still considered to be a hero of the faith as recorded in the book of Hebrews. This series will look at Samson’s life as a cautionary tale for us with the hint of redemption found at the end.

This common expression of Pittsburghese for getting things ready translates nicely to what Paul exhorts the church to do in his second letter to the church at Thessalonica. This series will prayerfully apply to our lives today what Paul instructs that first century church, including enduring trials, working hard, and gaining a better understanding of Jesus’ second coming.
